We’ve started putting together our new show for the 2014 California Library Summer Reading Program. Last night we had our first chance to test drive a couple of songs at the Arcade Library. Below is a photo of the kids moving along with Scott playing a new song he wrote called “Walkin’ Around the Room.”
In this song, the kids walk around the room like different kinds of animals. It went gangbusters, and thanks to the kids calling out what kinds of animals they wanted to walk like, the song went on for a good five minutes. It was definitely a HUGE crowd pleaser.
Another song we tried, with opposite results, was one called “Robot Cafe” which consisted of us singing about hash brown potatoes. I didn’t take a photo of that one because an audience of kids standing around confused is not not a photo we want to pop up when someone searches us on the internet.
Either way, we’re so glad to get a chance to road test our new material before we put it all in the new show. By the time June rolls around, we’re going to have an all new, blow the doors off, rock and roll, show. At our next show, at the Rancho Cordova Library on March 14th, we’ll be test driving a couple new songs including “Save the Egg!” and “Nickname Nickname.” We hope to see you there!
